Nothing will affect the atmosphere of a room more than the color of its walls and furnishings.  Numerous studies have shown that specific colors will trigger a psychological and emotional response.  For example, blue tends to lower the blood pressure and red increases the heart rate.  Some research suggests that certain colored lights may aid in healing illnesses.  Every color has subtle hues and responses may be as individual as a fingerprint.  Select colors that best suit the personalities of the occupants, keeping in mind that the end result is a space that invokes a peaceful response.
